Pattong Beach, Phuket
Country: Thailand
Thailand's famed resort area of Phuket is reached by a one and a half hour flight from the capital, Bangkok. From the Phuket International Airport it is a one hour drive to Pattong Beach on the islandÅfs southwest shore. This is the center of the Phuket resort area, where you will see the beaches lined with parasols in the daytime and where crowds of people gather in the evenings to enjoy themselves among the densely packed outdoor stalls selling souvenirs and the like. Along the two kilometers of the beach causeway, you can enjoy bathing and marine sports from parasailing to banana boat riding or WaveRunner rentals.
To rent one of the popular XL700 model WaveRunners, check out the private rental operators along the beach, making sure that they offer proper instruction in operation and safety items and a reasonable price before applying for a rental. Since there are many people enjoying marine sports out on the water, be careful to avoid other boats and swimmers when you ride.
Although this is one of the areas that was struck by the tsunami at the end of 2004 caused by the earthquake off the Indonesian island of Sumatra, rapid efforts have been made to repair the damage and now the tourists are beginning to return. It won't be long before this is once again as lively a tourist resort as ever.
When renting a PWC, be sure to abide by operating requirements and riding area regulations of the country.
PWC rental facilities are not operated by Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd., or its affiliates. Rentals are for individual use and utilized at the liability of the user.
