Just two hours from the capital city of Bangkok, Pattaya is one of the most established and largest resort areas in Thailand. In recent years, the water around Pattaya has started to become murky, the streets are filling with rather unusual shops, and the area has become crowded with tourists, so the atmosphere of the area is not really one that lends itself to relaxation. However, a short distance from here you'll find a superb marine spot. Just 20 minutes from Pattaya Beach by speedboat, Ko Lan Island is a completely different world, with white sand beaches and crystal clear water. The Island has become very popular with tourists from East Asian areas, including Taiwan, China and Hong Kong.
Tour companies and the marine sports information counters at many hotels can make arrangements for a variety of marine sports on the island, including PWC rentals and parasailing. Of course, one of the most popular things on the island is the WaveRunner XL-700.
