Hi, my name is Nicolas Rius, a 15-time European champion and 10-time world champion. I have been racing with Yamaha since 1998. In 2006, I got good ideas to come up with a new SuperJet and to make it much better than what it used to be, which is great and good for racing and also for the customers who will be riding it.
As you see the unit, the top of the deck looks the same but the bottom is the most important and I was part of the development back in Japan. We have been doing a lot of work. The ski now is so much better for cornering, very stable, and I also go 3 kilometers per hour faster.
First of all, widened the front, we have a big sponson on the front, we have also moved back the pump area by 50mm that's why the ski is so much better in the corners and the straightaway. The reason also why we have such a great hook-up now, with no cavitation is because we have it pulled backward. This makes the ski very successful.
As you see in the last 3 rounds of the European championships, we won 8 motos out of the last 9, so that proves that this ski we have is the best in the market so far. Also, now the ski doesn't make you tired as much and it's very fun to ride and you feel like it's very light with a lot of agility. That's also big points in the new Superjet.
Also one of big points we have with the new SuperJet is that we shortened the handle pole to made it closer to the front and easy to handle, to have more maneuverability when you turn. All this combined, the pump and the front widened, and it makes the ski very fun and exciting to ride.
Together with Yamaha we put together the best ski we've had yet, we have been doing a lot of research and development and testing in oceans and lakes, and now we have the best stand-up ski ever made. And it will definitely win races, as you know we won European championship with it in 2006 in the GP class. If it makes it easy for me to win races, and of course it's going to be much better for you, with all the experience that I have, I've been racing for 18 years.
