The second Yamaha fun day YAMAHA S1 CIRCUIT GOES TO ITIRAPINA, SÃO PAULO

Guests from Pousada do Broa in Itirapina, São Paulo, had a different program at the weekend of January 19-20 this year.

Yamaha Marine Brazil ran the S1 Yamaha Slalom Grandprix along the beautiful shore of the Broa reservoir. Despite the rain, those who experienced the S1 circuit were not concerned about the whether during the event. The waverunner competition, made for amateurs in an individual challenge against time, joined families and brought fun to more than 50 people among men and women.

S1 always takes two days with the first used for the trials. The best 10 male and female time scores are classified. All participants, no matter they had already piloted a jet, are submitted to a safety and performance explanation on the S1 circuit. During the second day qualifiers compete for the semifinals and finals and then the best three men and women awarded with trophies.

Yamaha used two VX 700 waverunner models for the race and one VX Cruiser for general and safety support on water.

The whole structure and organization are aimed for the competitors’ safety, so the entire circuit is delimited by floats used to avoid other watercrafts invading the area.

The Yamaha Fun Day in Itirapira was supported by “Capitania dos Portos”, the Fire Department and a medical with ambulance rescue team.
The names and classification of the fastest in each category in this S1 circuit were:

Women finalists:
1st: Ana Paula Cesca Garcia - 36s55
2nd: Beatriz Blumer Silva – 42s61
3rd: Ana Carolina Cesca Garcia – 1m59s53

Men finalists:
1st: Tomás Botelho – 29s53
2nd: Danilo Antonio Fonzara – 29s92
3rd: Gilberto Junqueira – 30s64
