Place
The Narrows Bridge" Perth, Western Australia
Organizer Country

The WA Wave Day was held at "The Narrows”, about a kilometre from the city centre on April 9. There were 40 participants, riding in either the S1 Challenge, or the 'come and try', as well as their family and friends. Among the people who came from far and wide to take part was one gentleman who flew in from Melbourne just for the Wave Day.

Following the official welcome and introduction from Yamaha, Jack Ellison from H2O explained the S1 course, the come and try course and also gave a safety briefing.

With the tents, flags and banners we were recognised from the busy motorway and the popular Kings Park, and as the day went on crowds gathered just to watch.

After the briefing the VX110 Sport was used to instruct on "general maintenance and craft care”.

We were supported by Fremantle Yamaha and our new W.A. dealer, Estuary Marine at Mandurah.

There was an organised tour up the Swan River, passing the city sights, and Yamaha even laid on a sumptuous lunch for the hungry riders.

Old and new craft turned up with the Wave Blaster proving popular and well liked in WA.

Although the wind became strong in the afternoon and made the S1 Challenge more difficult, it made for more exciting racing. All of the S1 Winners from the previous WA WaveDay were there to collect their winnings, which were gratefully received. The feed-back from the riders was encouraging, with all of them looking forward to next year.
