Al Yousuf (Yamaha) has successfully organised the first S1 event in the Middle East.
The event was held at Umm AL Quinn on 19th May 2006.

Total 28 participants in the four classes has participated for the S1 time trial. The race was organised as per the international standards and all the participants followed the S1 rules and regulations.

The SP-J4 course lay out started in the morning and the whole venue was decorated with S1 banners and flags. The organisers, participants and spectators wore the Yamaha S1 T-shirt and caps and the whole atmosphere was filled with the S1 Spirit.

The registration started at 01:00 pm onwards. The racer vehicles was scrutinized by the technical team and approved vehicles was marked by the number stickers. At 03:00 pm a brief was provided to the racers explaining the rules and regulations related to the S1. The marshals and time keepers took their position and 03:40 the race started at 03:45 pm. Mr.Oishi, Yamaha Middle East, oversee the complete race event and assisted us organising this event successfully.

The coast Guard boats took position to restrict entry of other boats and PWC in the race location. Fully equipped ambulances were arranged as a stand by precautionary arrangement.

The event was supported by Emirates Motorplex, a known motorsports club in Umm Al. Quinn. Motorplex, arranged the security measures and other support in location.

The race finished at 05:45 pm and the prizes was distributed to the racers by HH Sheikh Marwan Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman Emirates Motors Sports Federation & Mr.Eqbal Al Yousuf, President, Al Yousuf LLC. Mr.Marwan Sami, Director, Al Yousuf LLC, emphasis the importance of safety and reaffirm the commitment of Yamaha in promoting safe and fun filled water sports activities in UAE.

At the end of the race, the racers and the organizers jointly conducted a beach clean up.

The fun day event concluded with a dinner arranged in Palma beach hotel.
