The first S-1 slalom competition to be part of the annual Korea Marine President's Cup was held recently in Jinhae, Korea. The day of the event was blessed with excellent weather. For this lively event, many riders and their families gathered at Jinhae Marina Resort, which was brightly decorated with S-1 World Wide flags and banners.
This was the first slalom competition of its type in Korea. The riders listened eagerly to the explanations given at the riders' meeting, and there was great excitement as the support staff from Japan delivered a message encouraging each rider to shoot to be the world champion in the Korean competition.
When the time trials started, the racers, who had been running a closed course, took on the difficult challenge of the slalom course. The racers were surprised by the race director's announcement that the standard time for top world-class drivers was 21 to 23 seconds, and many vowed to keep practicing until they were able to achieve this time.
This was an S-1 slalom course that could be enjoyed safely, and many women drivers participated in the competition as well. The racers could enjoy running the buoys without being concerned about setting records, creating a friendly and amicable atmosphere for the competition. The records for this competition are posteed on the S-1 World Wide web site, which we hope will create a new PWC sports scene for the competition participants and racers in Korea.
