This year the Yamaha Slalom Grand Prix is in High!!!
Last 15th June, another tour including the Yamaha Slalom Grand Prix was held.
The local choose was the beautiful Montargil dam, in Alentejo.
This dam is usually chosen by the Yamaha jet Center in Sintra - Palricar & Aventura, Lda, to held their events and Test Drives.
The Montargil dam is one of the first Portuguese dams having already approved the Regulation and Use Plan identifying specific locals for the use of water vehicles, ski practice and bathing, besides the safety rules.
While we were leaving Lisbon it was raining and we were thinking this was once again going to be a problem to the event.
Fortunately, arriving the dam the day was getting clearer and sun was starting to shine. The rest of the day was with a lot of sun and heat.
The participants were also optimistic and anxious to start the tour. There were around 29 water vehicles and 67 persons.
After mounting the buoys circuit all the Motomar staff also participated on the tour organized by the Jet Center along the dam.
As it has been usual on these events organized by Palrica & Aventura, half way the tour and near a ancient bridge, presently partially underwater, a small buffet was expecting the participants, a while before lunch, which is always pleasant for everyone and a funny way to relax between the
journey.
After this small buffet the tour restarted and, while arriving to the beach place that was the time to stop the water vehicles and have the marvelous kind barbecue lunch.
Around 3,00 pm the registration for the Slalom started and, adherence was immediate.
The new class FX had a lot of participants and the GP1300R was master on the Runabout II class.
On the Sport class there was only one participant (with one WaveBlaster 700, 2 carburetors) and logically the winner in his class, very well!!!
After the Slalom it was time for the test drive promoted by the Jet Center with the new models.
Also many took this opportunity to try one of the fabulous Yamaha new models.
In the end of the afternoon, time came to give the prizes to winners of the classes and, also the Jet Center held a small "lottery" between the participants, applauses and time to take a few pictures to remember!!!
Now we are preparing for a new Slalom that will take place on the 6th of July in Valada do Ribatejo, in the famous Tagus River, till then!
