Round two of the popular Yamaha WaveDays series took place at Mangles Bay, WA at the weekend, with the venue every bit living up to expectation.

Twenty-three craft turned up for the event, which took place under beautiful weather conditions with temps nudging the 30-degree mark.

"The venue was fantastic," said National Watercraft Sales and Marketing Manager Marty Kypr. "In Perth the winds are a factor, and this place is fully protected, with crystal clear water and a nice beach.

"After lunch, we went for tour around the place and outside into the open water, and that's where most of the riders got their biggest buzz, as some got to ride with dolphins swimming around and under them!

"The biggest highlight of the S1 challenge though, was the effort of Paul Vaccaro, who finished second in the world in last year's S1 challenge with a time of 21.50. Well this year he went totally ballistic all the way around the course and went even faster _ a 21.14. The way he rode, everyone just stopped and watched him ride, it was so impressive."

The FX 140 demo was extremely popular, with 40 participants lining up for a come-and-try of Yamaha's awesome new-generation four-stroke craft, and many of those backing up for a taste of Yamaha's new bright yellow XLT800.

The 'Lucky Door' prize for Sunday's Wave Day, 16litres of Yamalube TCW3 2-stroke marine oil went to Carl Bramley.
